DIY: Cheap Phone Speakers That Don't Use Electricity

It's easy, it's cheap, and you won't have to rely on batteries or access to an outlet. This rig only took me about four or five minutes to make and it works surprisingly well. All you'll need are a few plastic cups, a roller cover, a box cutter, and a marker. If you already have the box cutter and marker you shouldn't have to spend more than about $2.00.

Trace an outline of the bottom of your phone onto the roller cover. Cut it out using the box cutter (I tried with a small X-acto knife, but that was a little too flimsy).

Now trace an outline of the roller cover on the sides of both plastic cups. Once you've cut them both out you're ready to assemble your speakers.

If you'd like to see a demonstration of how well the speakers actually amplify your phone just watch my video. Enjoy!
